How we make magic

Our process is a simple, collaborative, organized approach to creating imagery that connects with your audience, mirrors your brand’s values and mission, while holding space for spontaneous creativity on set.

01. Inquiry

Every brand is unique which means every project is unique. The inquiry stage is where we begin to tailor our services to meet your specific needs.

  • Initial Contact: Start the conversation about your photography goals, budget and what your mind’s eye envisions for your project by reaching out via our contact form.

  • Discovery Call: If your project seems like a good fit, we’ll schedule a discovery call to dive deep into your vision, preferences, and goals for the project, ensuring a clear understanding of how we can bring your ideas to life.

  • Proposal/Estimate: Based on our discussion, we'll provide you with a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, timeline, and pricing tailored to your requirements.

02. Pre-Production

6-12 weeks before your session.

  • Planning: Our pre-production phase involves meticulous planning, including location scouting, concept development, and obtaining any props or additional photography gear needing to bring your vision to life.

  • Logistics: We'll handle all logistical aspects, from scheduling and coordinating with vendors to arranging timeline for the day and securing additional resources for the shoot.

  • Communication: Clear communication is key during pre-production to ensure that everyone involved is aligned with the project's goals and expectations, which is why we create a production guide to ensure everyone involved is on the same page for timeline, locations, capture list, and more.

03. Photo Session(s)

This is the best part!

  • Execution: During the photo session, we'll bring your vision to life with our creative approach, attention to detail, and technical expertise.

  • Collaboration: We value collaboration and will work closely with you throughout the session, encouraging feedback and incorporating your ideas to achieve the desired outcome.

  • Flexibility: Our team is adaptable and resourceful, ready to navigate any challenges or changes that may arise during the photo session to ensure a smooth and successful session.

04. Post-Production

  • Proofing Gallery: After the photo session, we'll carefully cull the images to prepare and deliver your proofing gallery within 1 week of your session.

  • Editing: Once you’ve made your selections, we retouch the images to enhance their visual impact while staying true to your vision and style preferences.

  • Final Delivery: We'll deliver the final photos to you through a private online gallery. You’ll be able to share the gallery and password with anyone on your team to implement them quickly and seamlessly.,

  • Our pre-production process takes 6-12 weeks, depending on the nature of your project. We are often booked 1-3 months in advance, so we recommend inquiring as soon as you’re ready to jump in to a project.

  • You'll receive your proofing gallery within a week of your session. After you've made your final selections, editing begins. Depending on your project's size, expect to receive your images 3-5 weeks after finalizing your selections.

  • Images in your proofing gallery are 70% edited. All images are edited for exposure, color, composition balance, and any noise reduction. Final images may also include distraction removal, teeth whitening and skin softening.
Our goal is to create images as close to the final product during the session so that the proofing gallery will offer true examples of the final images.

  • During our pre-production phase, we share prep guides depending on your session. These guides cover how to prepare your work space for behind-the-scenes photography, outfit selection, and more. We also go over details of what we need to create the best possible product images.
Our production guide goes over all the logistical details for the session so you can plan for the day.

  • In order to produce our best quality work, projects that require a brand photo session and a product photo session are split into multiple photo sessions. These sessions are typically scheduled one week apart when possible. Brand sessions most often take place on-location, while product sessions take place in our photo studio in northeast Minneapolis.
