Uncommon Collaborative was founded by photographer and creative director, Bre McGee.
Since 2019, Bre has led the creative direction, production and photography for brands across the Twin Cities.
Bre’s photography style has been tremendously impacted by the years she spent as a freelance photojournalist early in her career, covering everything from athletics to restaurants and red carpets to city council meetings.
Striving to always find a way to make any subject more engaging, Bre often relies on her journalistic roots when on set by creating images that not only draw the “reader” in, but encourages them to engage deeper with the content.
In 2024, Bre co-founded Minneapolis’ first creative co-working studio. Nest Studios is a space for photographers and content creators to work alongside one another in a flexible co-working space, featuring two photography bays, to enhance their technical skills and grow their profits using a Community Over Competition mindset. Having spent 15 years as a freelancer, Bre understood firsthand how isolating a profession in photography can be. Nest Studios was founded to cultivate lasting connections, inspiration and growth. By providing community tailored to photographers’ needs, Bre’s hope is to empower members at all career stages to reach new heights.
She is currently the Creative Director at Higher State Marketing.
